Hi I'm Kassie

I grew up in a small town. I'm the youngest of five kids. I love talking to people and laughing and eating icecream! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have just graduated from high school and will be going on a mission on October 25. I am very excited to share the gospel! I love to play tennis, sing, play the ukulele, spend time with my family and friends, do 4-H, be outdoors, get to know people and make them feel happy. I can be self-conscious at times, but by being in 4-H, a Student Body Officer, and on the seminary council, where I talked to lots of different people, I've learned how to not be so scared of what others think of me. Praying also helped me a lot on how not to be scared.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. I have read the Book of Mormon and I've prayed about it, and I've been confirmed, by the Holy Ghost, that it's true. Because I've read the Book of Mormon I understand the way that God wants me to live, the commandments He wants us to follow. I know that He loves me and wants me to live a good life so that I can return to live with Him again. I know that our brother, Jesus Christ, atoned for our sins, so that we can repent of our wrongs and return to Him and our Heavenly Father after this life. I know that through all of the trails and pains I've gone through, I haven't been alone. Jesus has been through everything I've been through. He can relate and understands everything. If we pray in faith to God for guidance, direction, help, comfort, or anything else, He will provide for us. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives revelation from God so that he can tell all of us how we should live and act. I know that the restored gospel is on the earth today. We're blessed to live in this day and age. We're here for a reason.

How I live my faith

Although I don't speak Spanish, my family was called to be in a Spanish Branch. I was nervous to go at first, but it quickly became a huge blessing in my life! The people in the Branch are the kindest people I've ever met. They are so caring and humble and they make me want to be a better person. I love being there! Especially because, even though I can't always understand what is being said, I can feel the Spirit very strongly and it confirms to me that the gospel is true. I'd been in the Branch for around 6 months when I got called to lead the music in sacrament. I was super scared because I would be leading the music in front of everyone, in Spanish! Once I got set apart in this calling though, it wasn't hard. There were still some songs that were difficult, but for the most part it was really easy and fun to do! I loved this calling! In my school there a lot of Mormons, but they don't always act as they should. It makes me sad when they do these things. We are supposed to be good examples of what we believe in and stand for. I try to do this everyday! I've been asked about my standards because I do things differently than other people, and I love when people ask me about it because I love sharing the gospel! I'm very proud to be a Mormon!
