Hi I'm Savannah Hylton

I grew up in Canada. I am a convert to the church. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a Pathways graduate of 2017! I will be serving in the Canada Vancouver Mission as of September 27,2017. I love talking to people. I love to read and write stories. I love to sing. I love to run long distances. I am starting the next chapter of my book of life. Adventure seeker. Stargazer. Nature. Travelling. Journaling. Music. Heavenly Father. Temple.

Why I am a Mormon

The Lord really does work in mysterious ways. He opened my heart and my mind to listen and be obedient. As I followed that prompting my entire life was uprooted and began to change in immense ways. I wanted to become a Nurse to help people. I wanted to go to the Military to help the wounded soldiers on the reserve camps, where I would not be in the battle field; and out of harm’s way. I applied and got an interview this past 2016 year. But Heavenly Father had better plans for me. He placed a particular person in my path and a particular choice of words that touched my Spirit. My Spirit knew something far greater than I can begin to explain. As I kept following the guidance of my Father in Heaven he placed my baptism on the same day I was supposed to go for my interview at the military training center. I had a choice to make. I could join the church and choose my Father or stay in the world and choose the adversary. When I lacked understanding I did not like religion, only because I thought it was a way that people could manipulate one to do their bidding. All the religions I have heard of and encountered up until that point was exactly that, they would try to convert me against my will. So I hardened my heart to the idea of religion. As I prayed to know if this was the right path for me to embark on, I felt an ember of a flame begin to rise within me. He wanted me to stay where I was and join the Church. As I continue with that same strength I garnered in the very beginning, I recognize that I gain more Faith, a stronger Testimony and firm knowledge to know that I am where my Father wants me to be. I have crossed paths with so many influential people in my life, challenged in more ways than I want to admit that I like. But Sincerely, He has made me a better person than I had been yesterday, weeks ago, months ago and years ago. He will continue to mold me into the Woman he has created me to become. I leave you my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I pattern my life after the Savior. As I read and learn more about Him, I begin to understand who He is. I love people, forgive them as well as myself, try not to judge others, help those I come across, yearn to follow the will of my Father in Heaven, and so much more. The more you read about the Savior, the more you begin to realize, you are becoming more like Him. As you put to action the lessons He teaches.
