Hi I'm Marsha

I have lived in Utah all my life. I am a retired educator, mother and grandmother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been in the education field for 30 years. I worked as a career counselor, teacher, college professor and Director of Internship Services for a large university. My job was to help students plan their careers and be prepared and successful in finding good jobs. I recently retired and am now enjoying being a wife and grandmother. My husband and I have four children and 15 grandchildren. I love being with family and spending time together, We enjoy good food, hiking, fun outings and boating together. Some of my hobbies are photography, quilting, sewing, piano, singing, scrap booking, cooking, biking and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child attending church meetings with my family I felt our Heavenly Father's spirit and love. I knew even then that following the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ would bring happiness. As my testimony grew and I learned more about Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ I desired to receive a confirmation that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was true. I prayed, pondered and read the Book of Mormon. One day I asked if it was true and if we truly do have prophets on the earth today to guide us. I received a sure witness that filled my soul and removed all doubt. I am a Mormon because I want to return and live with God and my family when this life is over and this Church teaches me how to do that. I am a Mormon because I love our Savior Jesus Christ and my faith gives me hope, direction and happiness in my life.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church as a leader and teacher of youth. I have also had leadership and teaching positions for the women in my local area. These experiences have taught me how to teach, speak, organize and lead others. I have learned compassion and understanding for others both in and out of my faith by serving individuals one on one. Recently, my husband and I have been called to serve a full time mission as office workers in a mission home. We are looking forward to assisting the missionaries in sharing the gospel with others for the next 18 months.
