Hi I'm Loryn

I grew up in Utah and was raised in an LDS family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and have been called to serve a mission in the Virginia Richmond mission. I have 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters. My hobbies include reading, crafting, animals, travel, and spending time with family. My favorite foods are mashed potatoes, peanut butter, peas, tomatoes, waffles, bananas, chocolate cake, mushrooms, peaches, cucumbers, popcorn, crackers, and almond M&M'S. I love my Chacos and Oregon.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family. I was raised learning about the gospel and have continued to learn and grow as I have matured. I am so thankful that my parents have always been such a great example to me and my siblings. When I was younger I never really understood what the gospel really was. I knew I had a Heavenly Father and that he loved me. Now that I am older and more learned in the gospel I have been able to learn more about the true and amazing concept that the LDS church is. I will continue to learn and grow in this life. I am not at all perfect in my knowledge of the gospel, but I am striving everyday to learn more and become better. My best may not be another persons best, and that is okay. As long as I strive to be the best I can be then I can someday return to live with Him and my family for eternity.

How I live my faith

I am in the Young Single Adult ward. I have amazing opportunities to get out and participate in weekly activities and service. I enjoy serving the sisters of my ward and working with my leaders to do so. The YSA ward is a great opportunity to meet people my age and hopefully find an eternal companion.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Missions are voluntary for both males and females. However, males are typically asked to serve for 2 years, but they can choose whether or not they have the desire to do so. I am a female and have decided to serve a mission. It was completely my choice and my parents supported me in whichever route I chose to go. I will be serving for a period of 18 months. It will be an amazing opportunity for me to learn more about myself and the gospel. Show more Show less
