Hi I'm Spencer

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I am not a cowboy but I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young adult (20 years old) and have just completed my first year of college. I am preparing to serve a full time mission to Tokyo, Japan. I am looking forward to this. I have had the great privilege to travel to many different countries and I enjoy learning about different cultures and languages. I also play the bass clarinet and enjoy music of all kinds.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both Mormons. I was baptized when I was eight years old. I attended seminary and church meetings at first because it was just what we did in our family. As I attended I began to go because I wanted to be there. I know that I am a better person because of my convictions and applying gospel principles to my daily life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example of Jesus Christ. While attending college I worked with others to help build their faith. In the recent hurricane I was able to/and am currently serving the community by helping support those that have lost their homes to flooding. I strive to serve and love others in everything I do.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

When Jesus Christ was on the earth he established his church and chose apostles. After his death they went into the world to teach and one by one were killed or died. His gospel was interpreted by many men and many churches were formed. Just like snow that has been trampled upon, the gospel was not perfect anymore. It had to be restored to the earth like a new snow falling. The Book of Mormon is a second testament of Jesus Christ and it, with the Bible, give men clarity on God's word. Show more Show less
