Hi I'm Seth

I was born and raised in Galveston,Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children and am 18 years old. I am about to go on a mission to Carlsbad, California on September 20. All my family are Mormons and we live in Galveston, Texas. I enjoy playing sports, going to the beach, reading, service, and going to church.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member my whole life because my parents were. I grew up in the church and therefore have a strong basic knowledge of our beliefs and traditions. I gained my own testimony of the church however, when I was 16 years old and went to a church camp or a week called EFY (Especially For Youth). It was there that I met many more people of my same religion and beliefs which I had not seen much of growing up on the small island of Galveston and being one of the only members in my school and one of three youth in most of my church classes. To see that I was not alone and that there were more kids like me who were my age really made me proud of my religion and strengthened my belief in what I had already known but not truly loved until I experienced this. My testimony was strengthened by this and I returned the next year and enjoyed it just as much as I grew familiar with feeling the spirit and the comfort and love of God in my life. I know that there is nothing that has made me feel the impressions I've experienced while in those places where the spirit is so strong. I've felt pure happiness and peace. I know that there is so much more to this life than just going to school and earning money by a job. There is a God and He wants us all to turn towards him no matter where we are in our lives and no matter what we've done. As long as you commit yourself to Him and go out rand show it you will begin to see blessings in your life that you never would've before as well as a fulness of joy. One of the biggest things that I believe in is that blessings only come after a trial of your faith. So putting yourself out there and doing things you aren't comfortable with will be most pleasing to God. I know that he lives and died for us so we can return to Him.

How I live my faith

I try to attend church every single week. I ave served as Deacon's quorum president, Teachers quorum first counselor and 1st assistant to the bishop as a priest. Now I am preparing to become a missionary in the Carlsbad, California mission for two years. I always am looking for opportunities to serve. I've helped a lot in the efforts to fix houses after hurricane Harvey, I completed an eagle scout project in which I led in the construction of bookshelves for the Sunshine Center, a non profit organization who cares for elderly people with disabilities. I have also had many opportunities to serve around my community from school club participation, for example being a member of NHS (National Honor Society) is purely focused on helping around the school and community so that gave me many chances to help where I could.
