Hi I'm Emily

I'm from California. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm Emily! I'm from sunny California. Where the sun never hides and seagulls fly away with your home made salsa dip. I am the youngest of seven children and love my family. I love animals, hiking, eating, reading and sliding down stair rails. I'll be serving my mission in Ohio in 2017-2019!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this gospel, but I was not born with a testimony of it. As I grew to be an independent person with my own thoughts, I became curious with what a true testimony was. Hearing the phrase "borrowing your parent's testimony" made me question whether I was only a Mormon because it was the only thing that I knew. Hearing the media call the gospel a cult and facing stereotypes as a teenager made me want to search for the truth so that I did not have to "borrow my parent's testimony". After much prayer and many answers, I realized that I did indeed have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. Although I was born into it, I did choose to be a member of His church. Having a testimony of the church has made my life much easier. It puts things into perspective. I know that Heavenly Father is there for me and he will answer my prayers. I have am so glad that there is modern day revelation to guide us in these days. I am thankful for the knowledge of it that I have. I am so grateful that I don't have to live my life searching for meaning because I already know what this life is for. There is so much peace in having the gospel in my life and I really hope that I can help others see that.

How I live my faith

I am involved with the children in my ward. I get to see them grow their knowledge and love for the gospel and it fills my heart with joy. It is a blessing to be surrounded by so much happiness and eagerness to learn.
