Hi I'm Logan Thorne

I grew up in Pennsylvania, I love playing sports. I've been called to serve as a missionary in the Washington Spokane Mission.

About Me

I am a soon to be missionary in the Washington Spokane mission. I'm a very active person always love to be doing something; whether that be sports (rugby and football), Camping, hiking, hunting. Most of all I love to hang out with my dog Copper. When I return from my mission I plan to Study Mechanical Engineering and BYU where I plan to also continue my athletic career on the rugby team.

Why I am a Mormon

My dad was born a member and my mom converted after high school. I have always been a Mormon, but my testimony and conversion didn't really start until the middle of high school. I struggled a lot with peer pressure from non member friends all throughout high school who didn't have the same standards of the Church. It was extremely difficult because I hadn't developed a testimony of my own yet, I was still living off my parents testimonies. Though I knew that I was at the right Church, but I had never really prayed or studied the Scriptures to know 100% of the truth of this Church. Once I matured enough and gained that desire to know I began to love Church and love the Gospel, but a mission was still far out of my mind. That was until one Sunday I received personal revelation from God telling me I needed to serve a mission. That was an amazing experience it was like I heard God tell me "Logan you need to serve a mission" I am excited to serve and bring people the joy and happiness I get from Christ's true Church. I know that Jesus Christ is our Atoning Savior and that through him we are able to find the straight an narrow and that invitation is always there because of the Atonement. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to succeed in this live so that we can return and live with Him again someday. That commandments are not restrictions to hold us back from fun. They are there to protect us and become more like Christ. Prophets and Apostles have been put on this earth in these latter days to help guide and protect us. God is Great God is good!

How I live my faith

I live my faith multiple different ways. My home teaching companion and I home taught faithfully for 4 years, until I was called to serve a mission. As a the junior companion I was able to learn a lot and how to be a good home teacher. Every other month I would give the spiritual thought or lesson to our families. Furthermore before I leave for my mission i've been called as a ward missionary, and I love it! Being able to hang out with the missionaries and have the opportunity to go out and teach with them. I learn so much from them and how to be a good missionary. I also serve as a substitute teacher in one of the Sunday school classes called Gospel Principles. I love teaching and being apart of this class because it is discussion oriented and covers the basics of the gospel. Even though I have been a member my entire life I learn so much in this class as a student and a teacher.
