Hi I'm Sage

I grew up in Canada. I'm a friend, a student and want to be a world traveler. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to smile and laugh, I love to spending time with my family and driving out to the prairies or the mountains to have adventures with my friends. My favourite activities are waterskiing, having big bonfires, reading outside in the summer, trying new foods, and (despite all my parents advice) tanning at the beach. I love to plan trips and excursions around Canada and to other countries when I can. I take every opportunity I can to see new places and I've been blessed to participate in a few service trips and other trips with my family around the world over the years. I've enjoyed visiting China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, Italy, France, Switzerland, Mexico and traveling on road trips across the States and Canada. I completed one year of a Bachelor of Science at university and am now postponing the last three years of my degree to serve a full-time mission in Thailand for the mormon church. Family is really important to me and I have seen throughout my life how this gospel has blessed my family and other families around me. I'm excited to go to Thailand and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to families there!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up my family went to the mormon church. As I got older I wanted to know for myself if what I had been taught was true. I wanted to know if God existed, if Jesus really did die for me and if the Book of Mormon was true. After reading the Book of Mormon I took the promise at the end of the book to "ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true". And as Moroni promises, "if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost". I had faith that I would receive an answer to my prayer and I did. It didn't come all at once. I saw no angel appear unto me. But I felt in my heart that it was true. And that was what I needed. Heavenly Father knows each of us individually. And if we have faith and pray to know the truth He will convey it to us in a way that makes sense to us personally. He did for me. And as I continue to live by the principles Jesus Christ taught, I feel the peace and comfort that comes from his spirit. It gives me hope, it makes me want to be a better person and it adds happiness and fulfillment to my life.

How I live my faith

I love being a mormon! I live my faith by trying to allow the love of God and His son Jesus Christ to saturate my life and make me a better person. I maintain a relationship with my loving Heavenly Father through daily prayer, scripture study and following His commandments. I feel His love for me every day and listen for His guidance through personal revelation and through modern day prophets. Knowing He loves me and is guiding me gives me peace and hope which helps me overcome my trails and challenges. I'm so grateful for His support and the support of the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
