Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in St. Augustine, Florida. I love the outdoors. I just graduated from High School. I'm 18 years old, and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

Having grown up in Florida for the majority of my life, I have grown to absolutely love the ocean. I love to go sailing, surfing, and interact with anything involving a great sea breeze and great people. I am enthralled with learning, and would like to some day become a physician and ultimately improve the health care system. I was recently called to serve a mission for the church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I have been assigned to labor in the Colorado Denver North Mission. I will be speaking Spanish on my mission, and thus will report to the Mexico Missionary Training Center on October 2, 2017. I am absolutely ecstatic as I prepare to embark on this journey, knowing that the two years I will be sacrificing are absolutely worthwhile!

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I knew no other life. I didn't know what it was like in other church congregations outside of our faith, let alone entirely different religions. However, I came to a point in my life where I had to make a decision: Did I want to live my life as a member of this church? Of course. Having gone through some pivotal periods of questioning and investigation, I am able to testify that this is the true church of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord, and that through him the true gospel has been restored to this earth. I know that the proper priesthood power and authority of God has been restored as well; and

How I live my faith

In everything I do, I try to emulate Christ's example. Whether it's the manner in which I speak or act, I do my best to model such tendencies after Christ's mortal ministry. Similar to other Christian faiths, I attend Church meetings on Sundays; and, attend other meetings on other days of the week that provide further fellowship and learning opportunities. As members of the church, we strive to center our lives around Christ--and invite others to do so, additionally. By doing so I have found a greater and more intense sense of joy and fulfillment in my life. It truly is the perfect way to live for imperfect people.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We do not worship Joseph Smith at all. This is the Church of Jesus Christ, and that is simply because this is the same church that was organized when Christ was on the earth. Joseph Smith was a Prophet, and was instrumental in restoring the church Jesus Christ established during His mortal ministry. We do revere Joseph Smith as a true disciple as Jesus Christ, as his servitude was imperative in restoring Christ's church so that we may experience the blessings of the true, full gospel of Jesus Christ.
