Hi I'm Alexa

Born and raised Texan. México has my heart. I love dancing, math, and chemistry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished my first year of college (studying chemical engineering) and am currently preparing to go on a mission. I absolutely am a total nerd when it comes to chemistry! Though I actually enjoy learning, I'm still not always a fan of homework... Although I do love dressing up and having a nice makeover, I'm always ready to pull my hair up, roll my sleeves and go on sweet outdoor adventures in the hot sun. The ocean is my favorite and hope to learn to surf someday. My number one passion is dance. I enjoy all sorts of dance, but my favorite is hip-hop. Along with that, I am a work-out fanatic, however, I'm still working on the healthy diet side of it. I just love Mexican pozole and pan dulce too much! My biggest goal in life is to travel and learn about as many cultures as I can. In the process, I hope to help many people's lives both temporally and spiritually and am sure that I will be helped as well by all those I meet. I really just want to share where my genuine HAPPINESS comes from!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life, but I, too, have a conversion story. I had always believed that Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, were real. It wasn't until I was older, however, that I KNEW with my whole soul that they live. I observe the little miracles in my life that I receive daily and I know that they are not by chance. The cause of my joy is not because I'm lucky or just don't have tribulations. It is because I have the knowledge of an almighty God and His son who love me. All the positive, along with the not-so-positive, things in my life have been a blessing that no man could have possibly created. Only a God can have the power to bless me as I have been blessed. I have felt His infinite and intimate love. I have felt his help every step of the way, especially in my darkest times. It is when I am aware He is there that I am genuinely happy. It's easy to be happy when everything seems to be going your way. But I have a testimony that it is possible to enjoy every second of your life no matter the storm you may be going through. This life was made for us to be joyful. That is the reason we help one another and we let others help us. Even when we feel there is no one there to save us from drowning, He is always waiting, with his arms opened, for us to reach out to him. He will be there to comfort us and make the storm more bearable. This is where I have found my true happiness and is the reason why I believe life is so beautiful.

How I live my faith

Being LDS is definitely a life style. One that I love and would never trade for anything in the world. I participate in several activities with the youth in my area. It's a great way to get to know other youth in a wholesome way! As a group, we participate in several service activities that benefit people both near and far. It's always nice to go visit someone in your area when they're in need physically or emotionally and it's great to know that the support is mutual. I also get the opportunity to hang out with the teens (12-18 yrs old) and have great conversations with them. It's a great way to show them I can relate to them and make them know they're not alone in whatever they may be going through. Day to day, there might not be huge service projects or activities planned, but I continue to live my faith. I am not perfect, but I strive to be the best version of myself. I continue to serve my family and friends by simply asking them how their day is going. Being a kind, understanding, and helpful person who is constantly making an effort to progress is what matters most.
