Hi I'm Jacob Lawrence Bibb

I grew up in Louisiana. I helped others repair and recover after the flood of 2016, I want to help others, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me, are that I have a passion for food and cooking, I have always wanted to try all sorts of foods from around the world. For Sports, I spent my youngest years playing Soccer. Never did score my own goal, but I did assist quite a few. After that I moved onto Taekwondo, to which I achieved a brown belt in, and then moved on to Fencing. I spent a good few years doing that until I became too busy to continue. I have always enjoyed online gaming, and have found co-operative game types to be my favorites. But with that out of the way, I plan to go to college after my Mission is finished, and take classes on Physical therapy. Maybe I could take a class on cooking as well. When the flood of 2016 happened in Louisiana, I helped flood victims repair their houses with other people in my group.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in this faith, but I feel it is the right one for me. Everything here is to try and build you up, not tear you down. The friends and families you can meet, are some of the best people I have met. Sure, you will make mistakes, but that is why Christ died for us. To provide the atonement and allow us to have a remission of our sins. The atonement is a wonderful thing, and it is truly God given. Knowing that if you make a mistake, that if you sincerely repent of said mistake, that God will forgive you, is a wonderful feeling to have. Not only that, but God has also provided a way that families can be together forever. When you die, you get to stay with your families, and not lose them. Which is something truly valuable. So if you needed to know why I am a Mormon, this is why.

How I live my faith

I make sure I prepare myself for the day by reading the scriptures when I can, and I try to live my values by being kind to those I meet. You never know when someone needs a good encouragement, whether it be a simple greeting, or a good conversation. Each Sunday, I head to church and listen to the lessons being taught, as well as actively participating. I went to Seminary (Scripture study early in the morning.) for four years, and had memorized a few scriptures. I plan to further increase in faith, as I go on my mission, by finding open hearts to teach, and by actively giving service to those in need. Learning the language for the mission may be hard, and I may struggle some times, but I can't stay discouraged for long, when I know others could be having the same kind of problems. I have to be strong, and encouraging, to help them be lifted up out of their discouragement. I will accomplish all I do, with faith.

What is faith?

Jacob Lawrence Bibb
Faith is the very foundation of our church. It is hope in things which are not seen, which are true. Faith is that bacon in the fridge you know will still be there, even though you cannot see it currently. Faith is putting hope in God, when you are struggling in life. Show more Show less
