Hi I'm Jea Macarilay

I'm Filipino. I love to play the ukulele. I'm a daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to take portrait pictures of my friends and my little sister. I started taking pictures at the age of 18. I love to sing. I learned that I loved singing around the age of 13. The first time I ever sang in front of people was at a mutual activity. I love talking and getting to know others. In high school, I had the opportunity to be a student body officer. That gave me a great opportunity to know the students and get out of my comfort zone. I enjoy laughing and being with my family. I have a close relationship with my parents and siblings. I love them a lot. We're all best friends. I really like being outside and going hiking with my friends. Something about it just makes me feel peace and joy. It's so nice to enjoy the fresh air and the rustling trees. The best part is that I get to enjoy God's creation and see the things He has given to us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am a Mormon. I choose to be a member of His church because I know, without a doubt, that the teachings and counsels are true. I know that this is the true church. I know that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to come back home to Him someday. This gospel means the world to me. I don't know where I would be without it. It has helped me understand our purpose on this earth. I've learned to have Christ-like love for people I don't even know. The peace this gospel brings is incredible and irreplaceable. I'm a Mormon because I have a strong belief in the plan of our Heavenly Father. I love Him and I know that He loves us. I'm a member because I've felt in my heart that every single thing taught to me at church is true. I know that the Lord guides us day to day through promptings, people, scripture reading, etc. I know these things to be true and I can testify that God lives and is watching over us every step of the way. He will never forget us. He loves us way too much. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying daily. As I pray to my Heavenly Father, there's always a sense of peace. It helps me throughout the day. While I go through the day, I always keep a prayer in my heart because it helpes me progress and grow closer to Heavenly Father. When I'm having a hard day, I turn to prayer. I love that it's a way to communicate with Heavenly Father because He is our best friend and I know that He's listening to every word we say. He answers our prayers and I know that for a fact because He has answered mine multiple times. I live my faith by accepting my calling to be my ward's sports director for the women. It is an amazing opportunity to get to know the ladies in my ward and enjoy an hour or two each week to play basketball or volleyball. From experience, it has given me friends! The Lord has a reason for everything He does.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Jea Macarilay
Families are so important to Mormons because they are the center of this gospel. It's the center of God's plan. We are all part of an eternal family. We want to go back home to our Eternal Father in Heaven someday. He guides us through our lives and gives us the choice to follow or not. we are taught to serve and teach wherever we may go and our earthly families help us through that. They encourage us to do just that and we encourage them. Families help us grow. Our families help our growth in knowledge and in strength. Show more Show less
