Hi I'm Peter

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I have a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love to read the Book of Mormon.

About Me

I was born into a Mormon family. My mother's side were practicing Mormons, my father's side were not. I was raised in the church until the age of 16, when I decided to become a hippie instead. I led a pretty wild lifestyle. In 1978 I moved to Chicago to go to school. After my schooling I had a spiritual experience that caused me to seek out my Mormon roots in the Chicago area. At the age of 26, I read the Book of Mormon for the first time as an adult. I prayed to my Heavenly Father and gained a testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. From that time, I worked to learn about my religion, my heritage. Over time, I had experiences that helped me understand that God lives and that Jesus Christ is truly my Savior and Redeemer. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love life as a Mormon: The opportunity to worship with people that I love and to serve my fellow man and woman.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for a very simple reason. I know that God lives. I know that my elder brother, Jesus Christ, atoned for my sins. He is the Savior of the world. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. This testimony has been given to me by the power of the Holy Ghost. These are not things I merely believe, they are things that I know. I cannot deny the truth of these things, as they have been revealed to me very clearly.

How I live my faith

My primary focus in life is my family. In addition, I consider myself part of my local Mormon congregation family. I love to participate in service projects and be of service to my neighbors. In my church, my job is to teach the older adult men's class on Sunday. I begin each day with scripture study and prayer and try to live my life as my Savior Jesus Christ would expect me to. I will soon be moving to Chicago to serve as a Mormon missionary with my spouse.
