Hi I'm Haakon

I am from Rochester, MN. I am a sophomore at BYU but currently serving in the Paraguay Asuncion North Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and from Minnesota. I was born and grew up here. I am extremely competitive and throughout high school I played tennis and soccer and went to state in both. I also enjoy the sport of falconry and have had 2 Red Tailed Hawks named Athena and Caspian. I decided to attend BYU Provo and am a finance major at the university. I decided to go on a mission after my freshman year so I am currently serving in the Paraguay, Asuncion North Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I believe that the rules and standards set in place by the church truly come from God and are here not to be restraining but to help us become the best people we can be. I have been blessed immensely as I have followed the council of the prophets and church leaders. I am Mormon because as I have listened, studied, and prayed and have come to know of Gods love for me and have felt his hand in my life guiding me in the right direction.

How I live my faith

Living in Minnesota where there aren't many Mormons sometimes it is hard to keep the standards set in place by the church. The hardest for me was not being able to play sports and participate in tournaments that were on Sunday. Even though this was really hard for me, I truly believe that I was given more blessings by not playing on Sunday.
