Hi I'm Sheppard Sonntag

I grew up all over the world. I love to run. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play volleyball and I love to run. I ran cross country and track for my school. I used to play tennis but then I quit so I could pursue running in high school. I was never the "star player" of any sport I played, which was frustrating at times, but I loved doing them. I'm going to be serving a mission in Brazil and I plan on going to college after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

There was one time in my life where I struggled. I didn't get into my dream school, my parents got a divorce, I wasn't doing well in sports, and I didn't do well on the ACT. I wanted to know why bad things happened to good people. I prayed and I went to the temple with a "broken heart and a contrite spirit". I received this answer: Everything has its opposites. I didn't like that answer, so I started to pray about it more. A week later I went into 2 Nephi 2 in the Book of Mormon and in verse 11 it talked about having an opposition in all things. That was my answer. I still need to work on my faith in God's will, but this helped me to understand who I am: A son of God.

How I live my faith

I was part of student council for my school so I had a lot of opportunities to serve others in my school and my community. I was the the first assistant to the priest quorum and boy oh boy did I love to home teach.
