Hi I'm Karol

I am a Mormon preparing to serve a mission. I am a convert from Illinois, a retired teacher, and excited to serve the Lord.

About Me

I am a mother of four and grandmother of one. I enjoy sewing, collecting fabric, cooking, playing the piano, and collecting cookbooks and teapots as I travel. I am active in my community by tutoring children and volunteering at the local Women's Shelter. I like to visit art museums and antique stores. Retirement has been wonderful as I plan family trips and see many areas of the country. I am a military mom and very proud of all who serve our country with the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel! Ever since the missionaries tracked our home on a cold, snowy day, inviting us to come to church, I have remained active for 32 years. As a single parent raising 4 children I found the gospel gave direction , love, and purpose to our lives. As challenges were faced I had strength to endure using the scriptures, church principles, and loving ward members to weather the storms of life. There are so many programs within the church which teach doctrine, and opportunities to experience growth and the love of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are lead by a prophet of the Lord and he will never lead us astray. I am thankful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We can be forgiven of our sins and of others actions to us of which we have had to experience through the Atonement. I have visited many wards in this country and overseas. It is comforting and reassuring that the gospel is the same wherever I go. I look forward to serving a mission and share my joy with others.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to serve in many callings in the church. I love having taught primary. The girls age 8-11 leadership calling allowed me to grow in the gospel, having joined the church midlife. Studying the Articles of Faith, teaching homemaking skills as well as fun field trips were highlights I treasure. I have served with the sisters in recent years and love Visiting Teaching. What wonderful opportunities I have had to more personally know the sisters in the gospel. So many talents they have! I love the Book of Mormon and the teachings it provides for our lives today. I have worked in temples and fee very blessed every time I attend.
