Hi I'm Makana

Aloha! I'm Makana and I love the ocean and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Soon I will be leaving the beautiful paradise I call home to embark on an even more beautiful journey! I will soon be serving in the Dominican republic, Santiago mission I will be speaking and serving in the Spanish language. After, I plan to attend BYU Hawaii and start my life. I also love to surf, it's much more then a hobby to me. It's a lifestyle and a passion. Through it I've experienced countless blessings and joyful moments in my life. I love being around and in the ocean and will continue to do so.

Why I am a Mormon

This church, has been such a beautiful blessing and miracle in my life. The joy I've experienced could not have been possible without the church in my life. Without the gospel I wouldn't be able to feel the spirit or enter the beautiful and wonderful temple. This gospel brings my family closer and closer every day. Even those around me recognize the moral values that plan to uphold and it continues to bless my life. I continue to be apart of this church because, it is true. I know it to be true, i know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. If you truly read the Book of Mormon with REAL intent and a heart that wants to learn and know of these things. Then you will indeed feel the spirit and receive promptings from the spirit and heavenly father. Study and ponder the scriptures daily, no matter how long or short it may be. Pray as often as possible, you don't have to pray like Enos, all day and night, haha. But little prayers that have a heartfelt meaning and a prayer that shows that you care about every word you are saying. Do these things and I promise you that Heavenly Father will bless you tremendously and will give you promptings and help you in your daily life. Resist temptation and push through every challenge. For the lord gives no challenge unto men that is too great. 1Corinthians chapter 10 verse 13 says. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." The lord is here to help every single one of his children and so he has not left us alone.

How I live my faith

In my ward i serve as one of the ward missionaries. Once in awhile i'll go out with the missionaries to teach and serve those within our ward boundaries. Whether it be the poor, non-members that need help, or even members that need help with simple tasks. I use to have callings within the youth section of my ward and I would help with planning activities and being a good friend and brother to those i interacted with. It would allow me to connect with the young men and women and help me to know them better. Overall it made church more fun and joy, it even made it easier to feel the spirit.
