Hi I'm Alissa Frary

I was born and mostly raised in Virginia. I'm the youngest of 10. I'm going to serve a mission and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Virginia and home schooled until the age of 11. Then from the age of 11-16 we lived in Stuttgart, Germany. It was an absolute blast! I ended up being partially enrolled ( I went every other day) in the school on the military base. My parents aren't military. My dad was a contractor and did computer security on base for EUCOM and AFRICOM. I absolutely love my family and spending time with them. We have become a big board game family and enjoy getting together to play. I have 6 brothers and 3 sisters. I also have 7 nephews and 5 nieces, with one girl and two unknowns on the way! I love reading clean books and watching a good show. I greatly enjoyed high school theatre and am an avid lover of puns and sarcasm. I often burst out into song or accent of some sort (doesn't mean they're great, just that I will be). They'll probably be an occasional movie quote thrown in as well. If you start playing any music I'll be dancing. Again, That doesn't mean I'm amazing only that it will happen. I am going to serve an 18-month mission in Salt Lake City (West), Utah and whew I am nervous but that's where I am supposed to go, so bon voyage!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I absolutely, 100% know it is true! I love God and Christ. I have a real and working relationship with them through prayer and studying the Book of Mormon and the Bible. I truly love this gospel and the peace and joy it brings me and that I am able to bring to others because of it. I probably wouldn't be born without it and without the Holy Ghost prompting my parents together and prompting them that their family was not complete at 9. I am a Mormon because without this gospel I wouldn't be able to spend time and all eternity with my family. My family means everything to me. I never want to go a single moment without the knowledge that I can always have my family with me. That when we are all truly trying to live the gospel that we can live, love and grow together from here through eternity. Words, expressions or even emoji [collective millennial gasp] cannot adequately describe how deeply I love them and want that eternity together. I am a Mormon because without it I am simply alissa, but with it I KNOW that I am a daughter of God, with an infinite and eternal worth, who cannot only live with her family for eternity, but can also give that opportunity to other people and help them find their own eternal worth. I am a Mormon because I know, with every fiber of my being that it is true, in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth, specifically the 12-18 year old girls in my branch as a secretary to the Young Women's (the program we have for girls from the age of 12-18) president. Since I am still pretty young I only visit teach one person. She is taking the lessons from the sister missionaries and she is the most precious, lovable person. As soon as you spend any time with her you will just love her. Even though she isn't a member yet, she has such a strong spirit and it has been a privilege teaching and loving her. For the most part I enjoy singing in branch choir. I'm not the best singer and I can't really read notes so I greatly rely on my other altos, but I love feeling the spirit and I love giving that feeling to other people when we we sing.
