Hi I'm Olivia

I grew up in Florida. I love learning about different cultures. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in California. My parents met in choir and my now family of seven is very musically inclined. When I was eight we moved to Florida. Shortly after that I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I learned to live with it and be happy and heathy. My sophomore year of high school my dad got a job in Japan and for the second time in our lives we left everything we knew. I was able to live in Japan for two years and have experiences better than anything I had ever dreamed. I made life long friends and fell in love with their culture. After graduating high school I moved back to California and away from my family (who I missed dearly) to study vocal performance. I spent one fantastic year there and then decided to serve a mission for my church. I love to sing, dance, do yoga, read, write, learn, make friends, and cook delicious food for people. And I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. My parents have always been faithful members, but this does not mean I always knew it was true. I had to find out for myself. As a teenager I struggled, as we all do, and my faith was seriously tried. But through personal prayer, loving church leaders, and study of the scriptures I was strengthened. The Holy Spirit whispered to my heart all those years testifying of the truth. I began to see the hand of my Heavenly Father in my life and I felt it lift my heart. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that this is the church of Jesus Christ restored again to the earth so that we can live with our Father in heaven again. I know this gospel is perfect and that it is true. It brings me joy. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday and attending additional activities each week. I try my best to follow the commandments of God. I am kind to others, whoever they may be. I try to magnify my church calling as an activities coordinator and I enjoy the blessings that in brings to my life.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Jesus Christ gave his life for every soul ever created. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross at Calvary. This is the atonement He made. He paid the price and suffered the penalty for all of our sins. Yours and mine. Because of Him we can repent and receive forgiveness for the things we do that are wrong. Because of Him we can start over. We can progress and become ones worthy of eternal life. Because of Him all things are possible. He did this for us because he loves us. Show more Show less
