Hi I'm Courtney

I grew up in California. I study at BYU. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying Theatre Arts in college. I love musical theatre, Shakespeare, and the performing arts. I enjoy traveling and hope to see the whole world one day. I like reading the classics, listening to music from the 60's-80's, swimming, and snow skiing. I've also really come to love strategic board games and play those with my family often.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the gospel in my life and was baptized at the age of eight. I have learned about the principles and doctrine of the gospel ever since I was young, thus none of it was ever strange to me. When I began to grow up and really ponder on my testimony, I realized that I had always known the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. With every principle, doctrine, teaching, and issue, I have found that my faith and testimony has always been there, however feebly or strong. I am a Mormon because I know that what this church teaches is true and I want everyone else to know as well. This church has brought me so much joy and hope. Through every struggle and trial in my life I have always had the gospel to turn to. The church does not make my life perfect, or even easy, but just knowing I have a loving and understanding Heavenly Father to turn to gives me hope and comfort. This perfect gospel of Christ has been able to lift me up and help me grow stronger, especially when the woes of the world seem to drag me down.

How I live my faith

I love attending church every week to hear the talks and lessons of others. My most enjoyable calling has been leading the music. I love how music can invite peaceful feelings into my heart and I hope it does the same for others. Another calling I had once was to greet people. This was great because I got to know so many new people and I always looked forward to the next Sunday when we could catch up again. Throughout the week I enjoy spending time with my family as we pray and study scripture together, as well as attend fun activities with other church members.
