Hi I'm Derek Bronson

Born and raised in California and work currently as a Physician Assistant. I'm LDS.

About Me

I'm a Physician Assistant working at an ENT clinic. I enjoy piano, hiking, shooting, and reading. I'm a Father of 2 (soon to be three!) I really enjoy discussing politics, religion and appreciate learning from different points of view. I speak Italian. I'm currently learning Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, I was raised LDS. But the reason that I am LDS is not solely due to being raised this way. Like any teenager, I had questions, doubts, and struggles of faith. During this time, I read through the book and applied the promise at the end of the book from Moroni 10:4: "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." The reason I am Mormon is because I read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it was the word of God. I received an answer that it was a true work of God. I still read the Book of Mormon and receive the same spiritual affirmation that the book is true. I tell people: spiritual questions demand spiritual answers. If you have a question about the physical world then you can turn to science or the empirical method. As for the things of God, gathering physical evidence is an impotent method of proving/disproving the existence of God. You need to find spiritually things out spiritually. Also you have to want it. You need to stop doing things you know you shouldn't be doing. You must continue in prayer with faith that you will receive an answer. You need to keep reading the Book of Mormon. I promise you that if you do this you will receive answer. It may take days, weeks, months, but you will receive an answer according to your diligence. It may be in the form of a tremendously good feeling, thought, or maybe from the words of a stranger-- regardless of the method He uses to speak to you; you will know that it is from God. He will answer you. He is just waiting for you to knock on that door. And like a father of a lost child he will rush to embrace you. This will change your life for the better in innumerable ways.

How I live my faith

My jobs in the church have varied from playing the piano for children's songs to visiting and administering to those in need. I've taught Sunday School, lead missionary work, and lead Boy Scouts. My most rewarding services in the church have always been those in which I'm doing something for someone that they can't do for themselves. When I'm actively doing that-- I feel that my worship and faith in Christ are pure.
