Hi I'm Matty

I grew up in the western United States. I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I did Tae Kwon Do with my mom for 6 years, I love horses, reading and being with friends. I just finished my Freshman year of college last April. I am not sure what I am going to major in, I took some Special Education classes and decided that it wasn't for me. I am thinking maybe physics or engineering. I am the youngest of four children by six years, I have two sisters and one brother. Both of my sisters are married and I have one adorable niece. When I was in high school I participated in Special Olympic sports as a buddy to the athletes with special needs. I helped with basketball and softball, both were a wonderful experience that I would suggest to anyone! Especially if you aren't particularly good at sports :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I have prayed and asked God for myself if it is true. The answer did not come right away, I definitely was going off of faith for a while but eventually my answer came (when I was least expecting it really). I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet the Holy Ghost has testified it to me and if Joseph Smith was a prophet, this gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is all that matters. I have questions, it is only natural to have questions but we do not have all the answers, God has all the answers. Sometimes God is not ready to give us answers and that is okay! It is okay to have unanswered questions. We are here to learn and grow, the only way to learn is to ask questions. I know that God is our loving Heavenly Father, I know that Jesus Christ lives and that They both love us. We are God's children. Jesus Christ died for us because He loves us. We are never alone, never forgotten, and never forsaken. Trials will come but the Lord will always be there. Even if we push Him away. He is the one that will never leave.

How I live my faith

I find joy in living my faith. I love doing family history work, in my ward at school I was a Sunday school teacher for a family history class and I really enjoyed it. I study the scriptures and try to live the commandments. I have been called to serve a mission in Germany and am very excited.
