Hi I'm Carson Snell

I grew up in Halifax, MA. I served a mission in Phoenix, Arizona speaking Spanish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an eighteen year old boy. I am about to leave on a mission. After that I am attending BYU Provo where I will major in mechanical engineering. I have lived mostly a pretty regular life. I grew up in Massachusetts where I attended a public high school. I played football, wrestled, and ran track. I was one of four Mormons in my grade which was actually a huge amount. My senior year was the hardest year of my life. Shortly after the football season ended I was hospitalized after I was overcome by an extreme illness. I was in the hospital for a month and put on a life support machine for a week during that span. I suffered for two weeks in a coma and woke up with no muscle left and had to build up the strength to be able to stand up again. The recovery from this illness is still ongoing. Physically I am okay but there is still mental recovery going on. I share this story hoping that it is something that somebody can identify with.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I realize the peace and happiness that this religion and gospel brings to my life and to my family. As I said earlier I was one of very few Mormons in my high school and because of this I was able to see what people of other religions lives are like. Most of my friends are not Mormon. I love them and care for them but I can see that they live differently from me. I see that they enjoy themselves at times and have lots of fun at times but overall their lives are difficult. When they suffer through challenges and sadness and depression it is so hard for them to deal with and get through. I can see that they wonder why hard things happen to them. They wonder what the purpose of life is. This is why I am a Mormon. I know what my purpose is. I know I am a son of God. I know that He knows me individually and loves me. I know that I can pray to Him and receive answers from Him. I know that He is looking out for me. In my times of need He is there to help. Through Him I can overcome anything. I know that it will be hard and take a lot of work and feel like the challenges never end, but if I continue to endure and have faith then I can make it through and learn. I know that I can return to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by preparing to serve a mission. Tomorrow night I leave for a mission where I will spread the gospel and invite others to come unto Christ. I will strive to teach them and love them and bring peace and happiness to their lives. I will strive to show love towards absolutely everybody as I know that we are all children of our Heavenly Father.
