Hi I'm Cannon Goslin

I'm from Utah. I'm a student athlete. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm a football player currently playing in the UTFL(Utah Tackle Football Leauge) I play Wide receiver. I love the sport and love the game, however, I'm putting my love for football on hold next month as I have been called to be a missionary for the LDS church. I have been assigned to Labor in the Salt Lake City Utah Mission and I can't wait. Having the opportunity to go on a mission was something that I thought about my whole life and was really looking forward to as a kid. However, as I got into my teenage years I started to become more and more unsure if it was the right decision for me. Especially my sophomore year of high school. My parents were having some Marital troubles and by my Jr. year they were divorced which was very hard for me to come to terms with. I had been playing ball my Jr. year and had some teammates who helped me out a lot and are all now serving missions as well. My Senior year is when I finally decided to go and I'm very happy I made that decision

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I pretty much just followed my Mom and Dad to church, however, as I entered my teenage years I really had to find out for myself. And the summer before I was going into my freshman year I ended up being involved in a hiking accident where I was in a dangerous spot up a canyon called the grotto and I ended up falling about 14 feet into a pile of boulders and I remember just darkness. And I thought I had died and I was like "is this it?". "this is all there is...nothing?" And a few minutes later I woke up and I had broken 4 bones in my arms and had to get stitches in my face my whole body was this giant gash but I was still alive and for awhile I was thinking about the how. like "how did this happen?" Then I thought about the why. And I know I'm here for a reason and God saved my life that day and he has saved it many times since. I know that he is real I felt it. that's why I'm Mormon

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is through trust. As a receiver, you have to trust that when you turn and make your cut that in that second you're open, the ball will be there. You have to develop a strong relationship with your quarterback through communication and practice. I feel like a relationship with God is the same way. There is a term in football called leading. It is where the Quarterback throws it just enough in front of the receivers that He is not sure if He can get it. As the receiver, you sometimes wonder why as this can result in an incompletion However, the Quarterback can see the whole field whereas you the wideout can only see a small section and often times if you do your very best and allow the QB to lead you good things will happen. God is life's Quarterback He has a plan and even though we don't always understand it. We need to let Him lead us because we can only see a small portion of life's playing field. He can see the whole picture. We have to trust in Him that He knows what is best.
