Hi I'm Craig Johnson

I am an ordinary husband, father, friend and neighbor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love nature and the varied beauty of the earth. Plants and wildlife that survive in the scorching desert strike awe within me. Likewise, I am fascinated with alpine meadows filled with flowers and trees stunted by the short growing season. I love exploring elevations high, low and everything in between. After working many years for a local utility company I retired. Since then I've spent time taking care of apartments. Recently, my wife and I accepted an opportunity to serve as missionaries in Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

My understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ began as a youth. Although my parents took me to church as a child and youth. The basis for my faith in God first took root when I read and prayed to understand the Bible and Book of Mormon as a teenager. Serving as a missionary in Kentucky at age 19 fostered more faith and happiness. To me the teachings of Jesus Christ bring happiness as I weave my life with others. My wife Becky and I raised two daughters and two sons. I think marriage and family pushed me to give up a bit of selfishness and learn to give to others. A crying infant has the ability to help me put aside self-interest and find love and happiness giving to a child. The lessons of parenting have helped me grow to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about building relationships that weave my life with family, friends, neighbors and even casual acquaintances. Relationships long and short, deep and brief all combine to weave a living tapestry of happiness and love that comforts my soul.

How I live my faith

I participate in a variety of community service opportunities, such as those sponsored by Rotary Club. I also teach Sunday School in my local congregation.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Craig Johnson
Marriage that includes God is the taproot of happiness for me. Marriage has helped me learn how to put aside selfishness and give in a way that binds husband and wife with cords of happiness that exceeds the fleeting thrills of the amusements. Show more Show less
