Hi I'm Pedro

I'm from Venezuela and i am a recent convert of the awesome Church of Jesus Christ of latter-days saints

About Me

I'm a Civil Engineer I love studying languages, history, and anything related with earthquake engineering :) I love to snowboard, play soccer, basketball, I also play FIFA, I do hiking, I love to read books like the assassin's creed series. I used to play the games but I do not have time for that now haha.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to believe that Christ made this huge sacrifice for us of giving an example of perfection and died for our sins. However, I knew that no religion actually followed all His teachings, and the fact that mormons had another book made no sense to me, i did not know that it was another testimony of Christ, now I have realised how it is the fullness of the gospel! All religions have some part, even sacrifices were done in the old testament but with the great sacrifice of Christ this was done. When I met missionaries I started being really curious about what the book of Mormon said, someone shared with me that the book tells you what you need to read. I wanted to experience that even though that made no sense that someone translated the book. I did everything as missionaries told me, I prayed everyday before reading and asking our Heavenly Father if it was true and started experiencing a deep peace when i read it and I had many promptings of the Holy Ghost I was no accepting the fact that it was true but then I could not deny it anymore. It was true and it was amazing and it was really good. I could and I can feel how it nourishes my soul. I had some opposition from my family but I decided to take actions and I accepted missionaries baptismal date. After baptism I could experience an clear understanding of gospel complicated topics, I read the book of Mormon entirely before baptism. I investigated the Church for 3 months, so when I read it the second time I realised that I understood really little from it. Now with the Holy Spirit guiding me and showing me everything I needed to learn ,my knowledge has expanded a lot and I give my testimony that families can be eternal, Our Heavenly Father loves us and He has a plan for every single one of us. It's for real the Church is true and this is the Church of Christ, and I share all these things in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I read the scriptures everyday so I actually learn a lot every single day, I go to the religion institute to boost my gospel understanding, I do not currently have a calling but I know that eventually the Lord will call me to serve :), I always go out to share the gospel with the missionaries and I always try to share the things that I have learnt with my friends and people who does not know a lot of the church. I'm looking forward to serve a full time mission.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The purpose of Church welfare is to promote self-reliance and to care for and serve the poor and needy. For assistance, recipients are encouraged to work (when able) so that they are blessed and can bless the lives of others. Work is a guiding principle in the Church's welfare program.
