Hi I'm Chase Whitehead

I grew up just outside of Salt Lake City Utah. I'm LDS. I love people & am striving to improve the lives of everyone I encounter!

About Me

Honestly right now I am to the point where I am trying to figure things out in my life. I love virtually all forms of art. I enjoy both playing and watching sports. I enjoy nature. I think the biggest thing I can say about myself is I am genuinely happy with the direction my life is going. I am not perfect but I feel like I am making progress towards the Man I hope to become. I am preparing to serve a full time mission and upon returning will return to college to finish a bachelors degree!

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a family that is not actively LDS and been through many struggles. There was a situation that happened with my parents when I was young that lead to my family being very cruelly judged and mistreated by members of the LDS church and non-members alike. Because of these events my parents were not always able to be around while I was growing up which left me feeling very lost as a teenager. Often times I would just stick to myself and try to fill up my schedule as much as I could with work and school and sports just so I could keep my mind off of the confusion that I was experiencing at home with my family. Throughout my childhood several members of the church were very kind and treated me with an incredible amount of love and kindness. Unfortunately I was not always at a place in my life where I was as receptive or as kind back to them so I was often flakey with my membership early on. This type of mentality continued up to a point where I experienced a feeling of pure loneliness in my life. I felt as though there wasn't anyone who wanted to be around me. At that moment of weakness I saw a bright light and heard a voice say to me "I am always with you" and I knew it was my Heavenly Father. All I could think about at that moment was how he could love and care for me so much that he would still want to be with me after all the things I have done against him. It was in that moment that I knew if he was going to love and care for me that much that the least I could do is put my faith in him and I started to become more invested in the Church. I found so many blessings that I didn't realize I had before after investing into the church. My life has continually gotten better the more I have strived to give and work towards the betterment of my fellow man. I know this church is true and I urge all of you who are questioning it to think about those you love and what they would do for you and then pray to our Heavenly Father and ask him if He is there for you!

How I live my faith

I am Secretary in one of the presidencies in my ward. I absolutely love my calling. It is basically my job to know all the events and activities going on in my ward and to participate and keep track of everyone who goes. I really feel involved in my calling and feel like I am a part of something bigger. I consider my ward my family and I spend a lot of time with them throughout the week! I teach classes every so often on Sundays whenever I am needed to and everyone at my ward is a young adult.
