Hi I'm Pauline

I grew up in Oregon and wanted to be a secretary since I was 5 years old. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and mother of two daughters, two sons, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Two of my children have served full-time missions ~ one in California and one in Spain. I've been active in genealogical research/family history for many years, and my most enjoyable hobby has been to photograph cemetery headstones in my state and in other places while on vacations. I have submitted them to Find-A-Grave on the internet in order to help others locate their deceased family members. The Prophet said we should learn to sew ~ but he didn't say we had to love sewing ~ so I was obedient and took classes to help me learn to sew. As a result, I was able to make pajamas, shirts and baby quilts for each of my grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where only my mother was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Since my father was very against The Church, neither I nor my siblings were baptized until after we left home. After I was married, I met co-workers who introduced me to the Missionaries. My first meeting with them was good until they asked me to pray. I had never prayed vocally before so that was really scary for me. It took a couple weeks before I was willing to see them again. The Spirit was definitely with us as they taught me the Gospel. I knew that what I was hearing was true. Through study, prayer, and serving others, I have a gained a firm testimony of The Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught in His true church.

How I live my faith

I have served in a variety of callings in The Church over the years. I have been the President of the women's organization, and have been a homemaking counselor to help women further develop their talents in sewing, cooking, homemaking skills, etc. I served as a Stake Missionary for two years. I have taught classes to young children as well as teenagers, and have been a leader of the organizations for the children and the youth at different times. Since I was always interested in "legal" things, I volunteered to serve as a Guardian ad litem for an abused baby in our County. That experience helped me to have more compassion for others and the struggles in their lives.
