Hi I'm Jacob

I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. I played high school football. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church, and as a result I had the opportunity to earn my Eagle rank, which means a lot to me. I've lived in the same place my whole life so far, but I do have plans to leave in the future. Currently, I am preparing to serve a mission, which is something I have also wanted to do my entire life. I am the youngest of 6 children, and am fortunate enough to be able to learn from all of my siblings' mistakes and accomplishments.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. It's not something you should let parents or friends tell you to do. I grew up in the church, which means as a child my parents got me ready for church and made me go. However, now I choose to go on my own. I'm grateful for my parents for teaching me to love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now I decide that I want to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of my own relationship with God. I know for myself that this church is where God wants all his children to be. This church truly is meant for everybody, regardless of your past.

How I live my faith

Church is a high priority in my life, and I will never let anything prevent me from being active in the church. I currently do not have any callings or positions, except that I'll be serving a mission starting in December of 2017. I prepare by attending a monthly class called mission prep, where young men and women who wish to serve missions for the church can learn teaching skills, and what to expect when they're out in the field. Other than preparing to serve, I also help organize building cleaning, to make sure enough people come on Saturday mornings in order to clean and beautify our meeting house before the Sabbath day.
