Hi I'm Spencer Blanchard

I grew up in Colorado. I am serving a mission in California, I love film, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been going to college for two semesters. I am studying communications. I have taken a break though to serve the Lord by serving a two year mission in San Fernando, California.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the gospel. Even though I grew up in a Mormon family, I had to work hard to become truly converted enough to serve a mission. I love that I am able to live with my family for eternity, and that God wants us to return to him as much as we do.

How I live my faith

I enjoy going to church because I get to help others around me become closer to Christ; but I also know that others are able to lift me up and bring me happiness as well.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Spencer Blanchard
When we turn 16, we are all legally old enough to drive a car. However, this does not mean that every 16-year-old can go buy a car and start driving it. There are rules put in place for everyone to receive a driver's license before they are allowed to drive it. This is similar to the way we perform baptisms. Not everyone can perform a baptism. In order for someone to baptize another, they must be found worthy enough to hold the highest form of priesthood, the Melchizedek priesthood. When done with proper authority, the baptism is done correctly and according the example and instructions set up by the Savior. Show more Show less
