Hi I'm Nicholas

I was born in Iowa. I'm a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, Eagle Scout, musician, fandomist and bookworm. I'm a Mormon, and proud of it.

About Me

I love Martial Arts. I've achieved the rank of Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, as well as the position of assistant instructor where I've learned. Scouting is another favorite, and I received my Eagle Scout at the age of 16. I played soccer for about 8 years before moving on to Martial Arts. I've played the piano for about 7 years, and love every moment of it. Singing is another hobby, and I've participated in multiple church and school choirs. I've also performed with my family exclusively multiple times. Reading has been a lifetime hobby, and I couldn't count or write down all the books I've read even if I tried. And I enjoy just about anything outdoors. I'm an experienced backpacker and hiker. I've peaked the tallest mountains in 3 different States. I've graduated from High School, and now await my departure date to the Washington, Kennewick Mission. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether indoors or out. I like to consider myself an honorable, kind, and fair person.

Why I am a Mormon

My family first joined the church when the restored Gospel was brought to Europe. My Ancestors were Swiss cheese-makers who heard the Gospel, and eventually were driven out, thus their voyage to the Americas. I've been part of a loving LDS family since birth, and I love every moment of it. I know that the Spirit is real, because I have had His companionship and love and support. I have read the Book of Mormon many times, each time praying and asking for confirmation that the Book and the church is true. I have no doubt that they are. It scares me to think what I may have missed, had I not been a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that it has blessed my life in countless ways. Eternal Families are one of the many, but one of the more important. I know that families can be together forever, and I love that. I know that together, we can strive towards great things, and that mortal death isn't the beginning. I know that the missionaries of the church do truly teach through the power and authority of Christ, and that the Priesthood that we hold is truly the power of God. I know that the Lord is our Heavenly Father, and that He loves us. I know that Jesus is the Christ, and the He is our elder brother. I know that we can all make it back to Him someday, and that He eagerly awaits us. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

When I joined the Youth in my Ward at the age of 12, there hasn't been a time until I was about 17 that I didn't have a calling. I've been active as a Counselor, Assistant, Secretary, and President; between ages 12 and 16. I've been a home-teacher for about 3-4 years with the same families, and it has been a fantastic opportunity to get to know them better. I have had the opportunities to baptize and serve members of the church for many years. I have graduated from the churches religious education program (Seminary), and I know personally that my knowledge and testimony have been greatly strengthened.
