Hi I'm Maddie

I'm a book-worm, songbird, and an aspiring world traveller. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love music; I am classical Soprano and a 24 hour songbird. I am also the world's biggest bookworm. I love classical literature, like Nathaniel Hawthorne and Ernest Hemmingway, but I also love some good old Harry Potter! I have an older brother and a younger brother, a crazy dad and the best mom in the whole world. I love my crazy family. I am a student at BYU-Idaho and have been called to serve in the Chile Santiago West Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I made an inward commitment to follow Jesus Christ. The prophets and leaders of this church are called by God to administer His church and His gospel in a way that is pleasing to him. The LDS Church has surrounded me with ways to know my Savior and serve my fellow men. I am a mormon because this is the Savior's Church!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by working hard each day to serve the Lord and helping those around me to know their Savior. Currently, I spend Sundays with the babies age 1 1/2 to 3 teaching them, playing with them, and loving them! In October, I will be leaving my friends and family to serve and teach the people of Chile about their loving Heavenly Father and the Plan of Happiness.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells the story of God's chosen people on one continent. The Book of Mormon is a record of God's people on the American continent. Though the Savior lived amongst the people of Jerusalem, prophets in the Book of Mormon prophesied of the arrival of a Savior. After He was ressurected, He came to visit the people of America and he ministered amongst them. Those people, like the people of the Bible were commanded to keep a record. This record was then buried so that it later could be found. Hundreds of years later, Joseph Smith was called by God to restore the fulness of the gospel and to translate the record. By the power of the Holy Ghost, it was translated and the Book of Mormon came forward. In combination with the Bible, we have the Word of God! Our precious scriptures teach us how to become like our Father in Heaven, and I am so grateful that Heavenly Father takes care of his children, enough to know that we would need his words to guide us on this earth.
