Hi I'm Mack

I love to hike, ski and rock climb. I am an aspiring botanist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being in the outdoors, so I pretty much enjoy any activity under the sun! Hiking, rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, surfing, sports, practically anything outside! Along with these, I appreciate indoor activities like baking/cooking, painting, embroidering and playing my guitar or banjo. I was in college studying botany and plan to continue to do so once I return from my LDS mission in Tokyo, Japan for a year and a half.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have grown up with the Gospel, which has been a true blessing. Growing up, I didn't think too much off it and didn't appreciate it until I was truly converted to Christ and his gospel. This all changed when I was a young girl. I loved soccer and played daily with the hopes of playing in college; however, I had a hip injury which ended my soccer career and resulted in 3 hip surgeries. I was angry with God and didn't comprehend why He would allow this awful trial to fall upon me. After month of tears, frustration and anger, I knelt down and sincerely prayed to my Heavenly Father spilling out my heart and my feelings. After doing so, i felt this immense amount of warmth, almost like a hug, and peace come over me and I then realized that my Heavenly Father has not forgotten or disregard me, but wanted me to grow. I then realized I was not focused on the right things and prioritized my life incorrectly. After this trial, I realized who important the gospel is to me and in my life. I bear my testimony that I know there is a God and He is our Heavenly Father and He created us in His own image and loves us so much that He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for us and live a sinless life ignorer for us, His children, to have the atonement. I know the the atonement is real and true and can help our lives improve and that repentance is necessary for I am most definitely not perfect. I know that God sent a special soul to restore this Gospel and it was Joseph Smith, that he is a true prophet and translated the plates for the Book of Mormon and that it is true. I know that prayer is an important way for us to communicate directly to our Heavenly Father and He hears and answers them when best. I know he is aware and loves me. I know trials bring us closer to Him if we allow them. Because of these things, I know that this church is the true church of Christ. In His name, amen.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith and follow Christ's example daily. I try my best to pray every morning when I wake and every night before I go to bed. Along with praying, I read the scriptures after I say my morning prayers. When I do so, my days go smoother and I feel peace and joy. Throughout my day, I strive to be uplifting, kind and genuine in my deeds and actions. I have had callings in my youth and adolescence in church, which included organizing activities and ensuring people felt included at church gatherings. Every Sunday, I attend church, as well. I have just recently decided to serve an LDS mission and received my mission call to Tokyo, Japan, which I am thrilled to be able to serve the people there and share them the Gospel, since it has given me an immense amount of joy and hope in this life.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?
