Hi I'm Sarah Winder

I have hearing loss. I love to Kayak. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy writing, kayaking and playing with my black Lab. . I am the only daughter in my family and the third youngest. I play flute, and love to go swing and ballroom dancing. I enjoy learning and working at scout camp. When I was 18 years old, I was diagnosed with hearing loss and now wear hearing aides. I am learning the piano, emphasis on learning. I was part of a girls wrestling team in high school along with a swim and springboard dive team. I also participated in marching band for all my high school years. I have gone to three different high schools in three different states.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but my conversion has been a gradual one. At approximately nine years old, I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I remember, very district, the spirit I felt and how it was so strong I shook slightly. My heart was filled with peace and warmth. My testimony of everything after that as come over time as I study sincerely. I have a testimony of the priesthood, of priesthood blessings and of prayer these have come through repeat asking and acting on my faith and prompting from the Spirit. I know that God know and loves me deeply, for I am his child. A parent doesn't forget their child. He knows my needs and who he wants me to become. So I am striving to be who the Lord wants me to be, someone he can be proud of as I honestly seek to be the best I can be.

How I live my faith

I do serve projects in the community and enjoy visiting the members of the ward. One thing I seem to d a lot is bear my testimony. It's always prompted but it's been an intriguing growing experience. I also a leaving for my mission in October of 2017. I am still young so I haven't had too many things that I've done for the church but the church has really built and lifted me. So, I try my best to help lift others in their trials and bake them bread on occasion.
