Hi I'm Tristan Grush

I grew up in Idaho, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho, and have lived there my entire life. I have worked on my grandpa's dairy, with my Dad on his hay and corn farm, driving manure-spreader truck, silage truck, and gravel truck. Some of my hobbies include leatherworking; making and tooling leather belts, wallets, or gun scabbards. I also am into riding and breeding horses. I currently have two colts, and one broodmare, having sold my riding horse just recently. I have competed in horse 4-H at the county fair, and have also competed in the team sorting. I also wrestled my senior year of high school first in the 195 lb. weight class, but ended up going to state as a 185 lb. weight class. I currently accepted a call to serve in the London, England mission for 24 months.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that were always strong members of the church. We went to church every Sunday that was possible, paid tithing, fast offerings, and had Family Home Evening. But, to take the step and decide to continue on in the church, be ordained to the priesthood, to serve a full-time mission, and also to take upon me the covenants made in the Holy Temples, I had to gain a testimony for myself. This was made possible through daily devotions to God. Some of these were scripture study, daily prayer, and going to seminary. Reading and applying the words of God's prophets, both ancient and modern, will bring you closer to Christ as it has me. A study of the Book of Mormon is vital to gaining a true relationship with God. It clarifies and expands upon many of the core doctrines taught in the Holy Bible. The two scriptures go hand-in-hand as long as the Bible is translated correctly. It is my testimony that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are testimonies of Christ, and of his Church. I know that God called prophets in ancient times, and has now called prophets starting with Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith restored Christ's gospel to the earth, and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power and authority of God.

How I live my faith

I have accepted the call to serve as a full-time missionary. My call is to preach the gospel to anyone I meet, and to prepare them for baptism, and full membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I do this by helping them come unto Christ through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I also give service to the community and to anyone in need. I strive to keep the commandments and the mission rules. By doing this I can set a good example to those around me, and to embody some of Christ's attributes.
