Hi I'm Katherine Donahey

I am called as a missionary to the Málaga Spain mission. I am studying psychology at BYU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved around a lot as a kid, but live in Arizona now. I am attending Brigham Young University in Provo and studying psychology there. I chose psychology because I want to be in a profession that allows me to help people and make a positive difference for good. I enjoy music- playing clarinet and piano as well as singing. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, and exercising.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I have lived the principles that this church teaches, I have found the doctrines to be true and my life has been blessed. I was born into a Mormon family, but that is not the only reason why I am a Mormon. I grew up listening to the teachings of the Church, but when I was about 12, I decided that I wanted to decide for myself if the teachings of the Mormon church were true. I spent a while working on this question in my head and seeking out and answer for myself. Eventually, I felt a wonderful, peaceful feeling confirming to me that the Church is true. Since then, I have continued to find joy and peace in living the teachings and doctrines of the Mormon church.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by fulfilling my church responsibilities and assignments. I have frequently had opportunities to teach at church, and I enjoy the chance to share truths from scriptures and prophets, and lead discussions about our beliefs. I have also been assigned to a committee focused on service, and served as a missionary for my ward. I am thankful for each of these experiences as they each let me live my faith in a different way. I try to live my faith not only on Sundays, but all throughout the week. Each day I make time to pray, study my scriptures, and serve others, because these things help me feel closer to my Heavenly Father, and His Son, Jesus Christ. As I make efforts to prioritize the spiritual parts of my life, I am able to see blessings in my life such as more energy, wonderful opportunities, and a greater sense of peace. Living my faith every day helps me stay grounded and focused on what is important in a world full of distractions.
