Hi I'm Ashton

I grew up in Davis County, Utah. I am reporting to the MTC to start my mission to the Philippines in August of 2017. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was a cross country runner in high school, qualifying and running state for our team twice. I enjoyed math and science during high school and plan to invest time in engineering in college. I have lived in Utah my entire life, but I will be serving a mission in the Philippines for the next two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have personally seen how it moves people to better themselves in ways they otherwise would not. Being able to see men and women come together and put their own lives aside to participate in meaningful and willing service is such a blessing in my life and it amazes me to see so many people working towards a common goal. People need guidance in life and I believe that being a Mormon has taught me ways that I can be a good person, it has shown me how to spread happiness and joy and how to adapt to social situations, how to avoid harmful things. The gospel has guided me through tough times in my life because I always have someone to turn to. I know that this church is true and I've seen the power this church holds used in action. I am a Mormon because I want to show others the happiness that others have shown me.

How I live my faith

I participate in my faith by serving others at any opportunity I can. I try to make others smile and feel welcome. I believe that prayer and understanding are two of the most important things to living faithfully. Prayer guides and directs us in our life as we communicate with our Heavenly Father and understanding allows us to show others what we believe while also not being to pushy or overbearing. I have recently been ordained an Elder and since becoming an Elder I have been able to participate in teaching lessons and also doing ward missionary work. I was a stake youth leader for a while, where I helped plan our stakes trek and other youth activities.
