Hi I'm Jess

I'm a future marine biologist. I am about to serve a mission for the church in Mexico! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love anything music related. I play the violin, guitar, and ukulele. I only sing in the car when I'm by myself so that no one has to suffer the loss of hearing due to my "special" voice. I also love listening to a lot of different types of music. I love hiking, water skiing, camping, and swimming. I was on the track and cross country team for my high school and I was in a sorority in college. My favorite thing to do is go on random adventures with my friends. I am almost done with my associates degree in college and I love to learn but hate doing homework. I also love animals but my favorites are dogs and giraffes. My favorite foods are mac and cheese and snowcones. Halloween is my favorite holiday because who doesn't want free candy?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the entire church is based around loving others. Never in the world will you find a group of people who meet for the sole purpose of making sure everyone is loved, respected, and taken care of- member or not. I want to testify of the love that Christ offers us. The biggest thing Christ taught while he was on this earth was love. He loves us so much that he suffered for our sins and died for us so that we can return to heaven one day. We are taught to love and accept anyone and everyone, regardless of whatever the media has said. I know that when I pray, God listens. He hears and answers our prayers. I know that we are never alone and that God knows us personally. We go through trials so that we can become stronger but He will never put you through something He knows you can't overcome. We have the Holy Ghost to guide us in the right direction in our daily lives. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it was translated by Joseph Smith. I know this is the true church and that it was restored by Joseph Smith. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our true prophet on this earth today. I know that this gospel brings peace and joy. I would not be leaving my family for a year and a half to teach the people in Mexico if I didn't know that more people need to hear the gospel. I live and love this gospel. It has helped me more in my life than I can even comprehend and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for my ward while I wait to serve my mission in Mexico. I attend church every sunday and attend activities with people in my ward.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jess
A lot of what the Church does is actually to help those who aren't Mormons. We are taught to always love and care about others, regardless of their religion, race, gender, etc. The church sends out 18 year old boys and 19 year old girls all around the world to teach, serve, and love members and non members. Our purpose is to love, respect, and serve everyone. Show more Show less
