Hi I'm Valerie
I am a Mormon, I'm from Colombia. I grew up in the church, and I am a current LDS sister missionary.
About Me
I am from Colombia and i have lived in another parts of South America. My main language is Spanish but i can communicate well in English and French. I a Mormon, I have always been. Most of my family is LDS: my siblings, parents and other family relatives. The ones that aren't are Catholic but i love them and they are also great people. I am a LDS member since my birth, and i am happy to be a member of the church. So i have passed thru everything: Primary, Young Women, Seminary, Institutes, YSA wards, Relief Society and more. I will become a LDS Sister Missionary in soon. I am a Colombian Woman, who is in college seeking a professional degree,a sister missionary and a person who wants to progress in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because be a Mormon having happiness. I am a Mormon because my trials, and experiences in the past, have helped me to discover that the church and its teachings are true. For me, to be a mormon and know that my Savior lives and His church is again restored in the earth is as simple and easy to understand as saying "2+2= 4" In my Heart the teachings of the Gospel make sense and i have felt the Spirit testifying me that these things are true. There was a time when i was rebel and i didn't want to come to church. My dad told me "if you don't learn anything and you feel that this is untrue, you can never come again". Of course, I lost. The church and this Gospel is true and I am a mormon because i felt in my heart that this is the correct path. I have felt God's Love, receive his blessings when i follow the commandments and have the powerful experience on the atonement in my life. With all these blessings, and powerful teachings the question here should be "Why are you not a Mormon?"
How I live my faith
The most important part for me is living my faith each day by doing simple steps. Everyday i feel the necessity to pray when i wake up, at meal times, and when i go to bed. Scripture study in the morning is much better than stuidying it in the night. i also live my faith when i am kind and nice to others. been in a negative mood won't make me feel the spirit. I try to fulfill my callings in the church, volunteer and be a good neighbour and friend.
