Hi I'm Ashlie

I grew up in Idaho. I love math, music, my family, and my Savior Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ashlie. I'm part of a wonderful, loving family. I recently finished my freshman year of college, and I am pursuing a degree in mathematics. I have always loved the beauty of math, and I am currently interested in its application in the field of biology. I also enjoy music. I play the piano and violin, and I have a passion for classical music, especially Beethoven's compositions. I believe that music has the power to unite people and touch people's souls in a way that words can't. I look forward to serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true! I grew up as a member of His church and have had feelings of peace and love my whole life as I have heard and read His teachings. The first time I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know whether it was true, I felt the Spirit of God witness to me that what I was reading was the word of God. I have since continued to feel the warmth and love that comes from the Spirit as I keep feasting upon the words of Christ. As I strive to live as as Christ did and follow His teachings, my testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel grows. I have a testimony that we have a loving Heavenly Father who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth to show us the way to live, to suffer for the sins and afflictions of all mankind, to die for us, and to be resurrected so that we can repent and become like Him, be resurrected after death, and be worthy to one day return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life and eternal happiness in this life and forever. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel of Jesus Christ, including the Priesthood power of God and its ordinances, to the earth in our day and that he was called of God to be a prophet. We have a prophet today, President Thomas S. Monson, who receives revelation from Heavenly Father to lead the church. The Book of Mormon truly is the word of God. My Heavenly Father has blessed me with so much, and I will devote my life to serving Him by serving others. The Savior has taught us, and I know, that faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end are the way we come unto Christ and receive eternal salvation.

How I live my faith

I have played the piano and violin in musical numbers at Sunday meetings and other events throughout my life to help create a spirit of love and peace and communicate beautiful messages of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a youth, I participated in service projects in my community. I love researching my family history and learning about my ancestors, what they sacrificed, and how they lived their faith. I have helped other people to learn more about their family history as well. I try every day to follow the example of my Savior by being kind and loving and giving service in any way I can. I also read the scriptures and words of prophets daily to learn the teachings of the gospel. I attend Sunday church meetings to renew the promises I have made with my Heavenly Father to serve Him and keep His commandments, and also to learn and teach the gospel with my family and other followers of Christ.
