Hi I'm James Hampshire

I was born in San Francisco, California. I lived there for six years and then moved to Salt Lake City. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Although being born in another state, most of my memories are from my life in my present location. I had a wonderful childhood and had many close friends which I still try to keep in contact with today. While growing up, I enjoyed messing with things mechanical. That interest led my to my career in Electrical Engineering. I am now retired, but had 44 years of great jobs in various locations. My wife and I have six children who have made good decisions and are doing well in their lives. I have truly been blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith has been a great influence in my life. I know that many things can happen in our lives that can either lead us up or down. My faith in Jesus Christ has definitely pointed my in the correct direction. There have been many things happen in my life that I know have been influenced by my testimony and my actions in living to the best of my ability. I am not a perfect person and have many faults. Fortunately for me, living the standards of the LDS church has not been part of that. I have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the restored church and look forward to serving another mission - this time to South Africa with my wife.

How I live my faith

I have been active in my faith all of my life. I served a Mission in South Australia and gained a lot of confidence and skills due to that experience. Meeting and talking with others gave me the confidence I needed at that time in my life. I have taught Sunday School, served several times in youth programs, served several times in leadership positions and look forward to serving in South Africa as a missionary again. I have my families support and look forward to setting an example for them in continuing to 'hang in' there until my life on this earth is complete.
