Hi I'm Andrew Suber

Hi, my name is Andrew Suber, I was born in Darlington, South Carolina, but I moved to New York and I have live there for 13yrs

About Me

I was born Darlington, SC, but I lived there for only the first three years of my life. I eventually moved to the northeast with my mom, and we have been living there for just over a decade. It was fun living there and getting to into the city, and going to places that most tourists go to such as the statue of liberty, Central Park, Empire State Building, and etc. When I was 16yrs old, I moved with an LDS family to the southwest, where I got to see what its like to be on the west side of the state. It was fun, but not as fun as where I was on the east coast. I'm into technical things, such as editing software; reading books that are sometimes fictional and about someone's life; I'm kind of interested in sports, I like to play them more than watching them; I used to be interested in skateboarding but that was pretty much more of phase not really something I was frenetic about. My plans are to complete my mission in Goiania, Brazil, attend BYU- Idaho and successfully achieve a degree that will land me a job back on the east coast ( NY, MA) hopefully.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because well, my mom is Mormon and plus the LDS church is a great place for helping people find their potential in life.

How I live my faith

I participate in my community by always lending out a helpful hand to those around me. For example, when we have mutual activities with the youth, we always brainstorm about how we can let our neighbors know that we care about them. We ponder for hours until someone suggests their ideas to the group, the activity usually involves us going around and seeing if the people need any assistance with their house, car, etc. One way that I make sure that I'm active in my church is by doing home-teaching assignments with my host-dad.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Andrew Suber
t is impossible to put into words the full meaning of the Atonement, which is the most important and most transcendent event in the history of the world. Through His suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross, the Savior atoned for our sins. This is the good news for all people! Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Andrew Suber
President Gordon B. Hinckley, prior president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints made the following statement in 1998 about the Church’s position on plural marriage: “This Church has nothing whatever to do with those practicing polygamy. They are not members of this Church.... If any of our members are found to be practicing plural marriage, they are excommunicated, the most serious penalty the Church can impose. Not only are those so involved in direct violation of the civil law, they are in violation of the law of this Church.” At various times, the Lord has commanded His people to practice plural marriage. For example, He gave this command to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, and Solomon (Doctrine and Covenants 132:1). At other times the Lord has given other instructions. In the Book of Mormon, the Lord told the prophet Jacob “for there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife: and concubines he shall have none... for if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things (Jacob 2:27-30).
