Hi I'm Lori

I am a mother of 8 children and 23 grandchildren. My husband and I are preparing to serve in the England, Manchester Mission.

About Me

I have taught Special Education on the Elementary level. I have eight children, all of whom are now married. We have 23 grandchildren, most of whom live close by. I see them often and love spending time with them. I volunteer at the local elementary school and tutor students in reading. I love to be outdoors, hiking, skiing and gardening.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church all my life. As a teenager is started to realize how important the principles taught by our church were in leading me to a life of peace and happiness. By following the standards of the church such as refraining from alcohol and tobacco and by being chaste, I was able to avoid some of the difficult problems many of my peers were struggling with. When I did face challenges in life, I found great comfort, hope and guidance in our doctrines. I felt tremendous support from not only my family but my leaders and teachers in the church. As I prepared for marriage, it was very important to me to be able to share my beliefs with my husband. And as I became a mother I was especially grateful for the Gospel and the church in our family's life. I can hardly imagine raising and nurturing eight children without the guidance of the Spirit in my life. It has been the foundation of our marriage and all of our hopes and dreams for our children and their children. I know this Gospel is true. I have a testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith and of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon has been invaluable in bringing the Spirit into our home as we read and study together on a regular basis. I am humbly amazed and grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the meaning and direction my testimony of the Savior gives to my life. My deepest desire is to share this knowledge with others so they may experience the joy of living the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I have always been active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have worked with the youth, the young children, the women's organization and have taught the adult Sunday School class. Right now I work with Special Needs people doing church activities. I volunteer one day a week in the Temple. My husband and I are presently preparing to serve a mission in England for a year and a half. I actively study the Gospel by reading scriptures and other church publications and try to live the principles I am learning.
