Hi I'm Holland Seamons

I am a student, an outdoor enthusiast, a sister, a waffle eater, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just love the essence of living, experiencing life in all the ways I can. Rather that's hiking a moutian, going on a long run, going new places, trying new things, eating copious amounts of waffles, and learning all I can about this beautiful place I live in, I want to be awake in this world.

Why I am a Mormon

Throughout my life I have found that God is in everything. I affectionately call the moments when I see his hand "the Fingerprints of God" and have discovered that every good thing in my life stems from his divine hands. There is so much light, hope, and joy found in living this gospel, it truly is the path to heaven. I find that as we look for God in our lives, we tend to draw closer to him and start becoming more like him. I know that this is the true gospel, I have come to a point in my life where I cannot deny what I have seen and what I know to be true. This fruit is good and everlasting. I love my father in heaven and I know that I am his daughter and I will spend the rest of my life rejoicing and praising my God.

How I live my faith

At church, I have the opportunity to learn and grow as a teacher and Sunday school student. Every Sunday, I get to listen to different lessons taught by other members as well as teach others about the love of Christ. So much joy is found not only in teaching others about the gospel but in listening to others bear their own testimonys about what they have come to know to be true. Sundays have become cup filling days for me. In the community, I try and share the gospel through my own example. Rather that be visiting those in need, baking those reallly good cookies and bringing them to those I love, going out with our church missionaries to teach lessons, or giving a smile to those I pass by. Everyday I have the calling of being a disciple of Christ, that's the best calling I've ever had.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Holland Seamons
I had the opportunity to participate and preform in the Nauvoo Pagent, a church owned play that celebrates the early pioneer saints that lived in Nauvoo as well as celebrated our first beloved prophet Joesph Smith. Nauvoo came much later in Joesph's life, but this city holds such a dear place in my heart. Joesph was a man called of God. He was called to translate anther testament of Christ, directed to lead the righteous saints from place to place, he received revelation that guides this true church today. He was a heavenly messenger called to do the hardest work yet. Through my experiences in Nauvoo I learned more about him and came to the conclusion that Joesph Smith was a risk taker. He was courageous and bold in his actions. Very few people have the courage or faith to do what he did. He was a special man, and although he was called of God, he was not perfect and that is okay. We sometimes forget that he was just a man, he made mistakes and took terrifying risks, but God needed someone like him to further the work, someone who was bold and faithful. Joesph Smith was guided prophet, to this day I strive to be as faithful and willing as he was to further the work of the kingdom of god. Show more Show less
