Hi I'm Jake

I grew up in Tremonton Utah and was a wrestler in high school. I love meeting new people! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am an athlete and participated in high school wrestling for four years. I also enjoy being outdoors. I love hiking, boating, climbing, camping, fishing, and riding ATVs. I have worked in the construction industry for three years and am about to leave on my mission for two years to serve the children of the lord. Some day I hope to pursue a career in the Aviation field as a Pilot.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a LDS family and have been a member my entire life. I have seen the hand of god countless times in my life and have received a personal testimony of my own that Christ lives, loves us, and because he loves us, died for us. He died on the cross so that we may all repent and be forgiven of the sins or mistakes that we make every single day of our lives. I have seen the power of the Atonement and the ability to repent many times in my own life. I have experienced for myself the true joy that is felt when living the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. None of us are perfect and we will always make mistakes. But as long as we are trying to live in a way that is pleasing unto heavenly father or as long as we are making an effort to develop christlike attributes, God will always be with us, helping us, and giving us comfort when life gets difficult and we must endure trials. I have seen from personal experience that god allows us to go through hard times that are simply a part of mortality, so that we may learn and grow. It is the only way to grow. I love this gospel and the joy it has brought me is so much greater than anything the world can offer and I hope all people can find that same joy.

How I live my faith

I just recently graduated high school and had many opportunities to serve and be a leader during my time in high school. I participated in many clubs and service organizations. I also served on the City Youth Council for my senior year. I try to participate at church by singing in our ward choir and playing the piano for meetings. I enjoy doing family history work where I can learn about my ancestors and learn about their lives and the sacrifices they made to preserve our family. Once I have learned about them and can find all of their personal information, I can take their names to one of our temples and do the work that we believe necessary to return to our father in heaven. We can take our family names and symbolically stand in place of them so they can receive those blessings.
