Hi I'm David

I enjoy playing and listening to music of all kinds and genres. I aspire to one day become a rock-star/lawyer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I started a rock band my senior year of high school, which I played guitar, sang, and song-wrote in. I played saxophone in jazz band at my high school all four years. I love to sing and play guitar and saxophone, and hope to release an album of original songs someday. I enjoy reading and collecting books, and am a self-diagnosed bibliophile. Most recently I have been catching up on the "classics" and older, more "intellectual" books. I plan on going to college and eventually law school, and am hoping to pursue a career as a lawyer. First though, I'm going to serve a mission. I've been called to the Washington Spokane mission, and am thrilled to be serving there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, surrounded by the doctrines and stories found in the scriptures. I can't really remember a time that I haven't believed in the doctrines of the gospel. When I got my mission call though, I decided that I wanted to find out for myself if I really knew what I had always believed. I gave myself to much prayer and study, and found that in order to gain a testimony of a certain commandment of doctrine, I must start acting in accordance to it. I need to take a leap of faith in the right direction in order to receive a confirmation that it is true. I also have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. I have had so many experiences of the joy and peace that comes from applying Christ's atonement in my life, and I cannot deny their authenticity. I have experienced the joy and peace that comes from living a life in accordance with the gospel, and desire to share that peace and joy with all who will listen.

How I live my faith

I go to church and attend all of my meetings there. I read my scriptures and pray daily, often multiple times a day. I love the scriptures. I try my best to be kind to everyone, even bad drivers. I enjoy serving in my ward in whatever capacity that I can, including preparing and teaching lessons to my peers in the youth. I also enjoy serving and visiting those who are homebound, and helping them however I can. This church is a church of service, and I love helping it live up to that name however I can.
