Hi I'm Haley

I grew up in the Chicago suburbs. I will soon serve in the Singapore Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, and trying new foods and experiences. I attended a year of college, which let me explore the world further as a Political Science major. I'm off to new and exciting things as a missionary serving in the Singapore Mission. My favorite sport is tennis, and I played the trombone in band all the way through high school. I speak English, and I grew up learning French. I took all the French classes in high school. In college, I felt that I needed a change of direction in what language I was learning, and that led to taking a semester of Mandarin Chinese.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the gospel brings me peace and happiness. Every difficulty in my life has been eased by the knowledge I have of God's love for me and His plan for my happiness. Another reason why I am a member of the Church is that it inspires me to be a better person. I know that Heavenly Father gave us a life on Earth so we could learn. I know that we all make mistakes and have our own temptations and trials, but through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be forgiven of our sins and try to be like our Savior.

How I live my faith

I love sharing the gospel with people around me in really simple ways. I've found that lunch conversations can easily become great gospel conversations. My community is very religious, and I enjoy joining together with other religious groups to provide meaningful service. In my ward, I attend a missionary preparation Sunday school class. I volunteer to help take care of the younger children in our ward while their parents attend classes on Sundays. As a woman in my ward, I am also assigned to visit and serve a few of the other women, which has been a great experience for me.
