Hi I'm Julia Lee

I am avid rugby player. I am BYU student, studying chemistry education. I'm a disney fanatic. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports. I love anything that has to do with competition and breaking a sweat. Basketball, cross country, rugby, any of the above is what I enjoy doing the most. In addition to competitive sport, I love the outdoors and the majority of its activities, such as hiking, biking, boating etc. I love being able to use the body that the Lord has given me and enjoy all of his creations as I do so. I am currently attending college and am majoring in Chemistry Education. I enjoy learning making my brain work in many different ways by studying Art, Music and Science. In my family, music was at the heart and centre of everything we did and enjoyed. I played the trumpet in my high school's Jazz band and loved every minute of it. Developing a talent on the trumpet was one of the most fun and rewarding things I have ever had the opportunity of doing, as I could then play at events such as Stake Dances, Community activities and family gatherings. I also LOVE to laugh, and jokes and humour are a central part of who I am. My siblings and I have made quoting movies the backbone of the majority of our jokes, as we can always recall the best and most fitting quote for any occasion or situation, making it that much more hilarious.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been in the Church my entire life, as I was raised by loving parents in the gospel. I was baptized and confirmed a member when I was 8 years old and I have been striving each and every day to live the commandments and the covenants that I made with the Lord when I was baptized. I love this gospel with all of my heart as it has brought so much peace and joy to my life and has been the rock and foundation that I have leaned on when I needed it most in my life. Because I have the knowledge of this gospel in my life I can say and know beyond a shadow of a doubt that my Heavenly Father loves me and that He knows me by name. I know that He wants me to succeed, and I can share my thoughts and concerns with Him through earnest prayer and He hears and answers me. He has shown his love for me and all his children by giving us the gospel and the restored church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Though the teachings of the church and the truths given in The Book of Mormon, I know my Father in Heaven`s plan for me. I know where I was before I came to earth, I know why I am here and I know where I am going when I die, as well as that I can be with my family forever if I am faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God. I know that I can be forgiven of my sins if I repent and strive to live righteously every day. I know that this Church is true and I love it with all of my heart and I hope that I can share these amazing truths with everyone that I can, so that they can have the same sense of peace and joy in their lives that I have been blessed with in mine.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by doing as the Saviour asked by doing by best to love and serve one another. I have served in many different callings from being the president of the girls in my age group, being the ward chorister, to being a family history consultant. In serving in each of these positions I have found that it is the love that I develop for those whom I serve that makes my callings so much more rewarding and enjoyable. In being the president of the girls my age it was my responsibility to make sure that everyone felt loved, included and welcome by everyone not only at church but also at school. As ward chorister, I didn't have much responsibility other than to lead the congregation in song, but even as I did this, it was fun to see the and create some smiles on the faces of those I conducted. When I forget myself and focus on those in which my calling overlooks, I can feel the help and love of the Saviour aiding me to do my best in fulfilling my responsibilities in the calling. Outside of the church, I try to live my faith, again, by striving to serve others and those in need in my community. I have had the privilege of volunteering at the local food bank at christmas for the past few years and singing with my local youth choir at community events and at the seniors home. I will admit that it can be hard sometimes to not only find the time in a busy schedule to go out and serve but also to be in the right mindset and heart to do so, but as I have strove to be led by my Saviours example, I have found the rewards and blessings of living and loving as He did to be worth every second.
