Hi I'm Adam Simpson

I'm an avid percussionist. I love math. I've lived in Layton, Utah my whole life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a teenage boy that's lived in Utah his whole life. I come from a family of 5; a mom and a dad, and two sisters. My older sister just returned from an LDS mission to Paris, France. My younger sister is just starting Junior High. I love music - I've played percussion for six years now. I play the snare drum in the drumline, the drum set in the Jazz Band, and countless other percussion instruments in various groups. I play Ultimate Frisbee recreationally and on a high school team. I've played for 4 years now. I compete at various tournaments; my Junior year, I helped lead my team to a 3rd place finish in the State. I leave for an LDS mission to Sydney, Australia in September of 2017, where I'll serve for 2 years. Afterwards, I plan on attending Brigham Young University in Provo, starting in the Winter of 2020. I hope to study mathematics, either in the field of statistics, physics or cryptology (or a little bit of everything).

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a Mormon - my parents have always been members, and they've raised me to be one. At first, I was a Mormon just because it's all I knew, and I enjoyed all of the activities and friends associated with the children's programs of the church. As I've gotten older, I have seen what other religions and groups in the world have to offer. I have been given the choice of what I want to do with my time and what group I want to affiliate with. No other religion or group has touched me as the Mormon church has. I know it's teachings are true. I continue to be a Mormon because it brings me great joy and fulfillment. I know that Jesus Christ lives, that He died for us and that through Him we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. It is that knowledge that I possess that gives me this joy and purpose. I want to serve Jesus Christ with all that I have, because I love Him and want others to love Him as well.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do. My senior of high school, I served as the President of the Seminary Council at my school. This meant I was an ambassador between the LDS seminary students at my high school and the teachers. That calling gave me the opportunity to support the seminary program at my school and help make gospel learning for my fellow students better and more productive. I have served in various callings in my priesthood quorums growing up, such as President or secretary. These callings enabled me to work with advisors in planning for and helping my fellow young men my age. I have served in various committees in my neighborhood, helping to address problems the youth in my area are having, communicate what they are with the adults, and working to find solutions for them. Currently, I await leaving on my LDS mission to Sydney, Australia, where I will devote 2 years of my life to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in many ways to many different people. I am very excited for that calling, and can't wait to leave.
